This is one of the three big Benten Temples in the Kanto area.
This temple for the prayer was built in 807, being sacred to the Benzaiten
statue which famous priest
Kobo-Taishi made.
The main shrine, the Ro-mon Gate and a bell tower are designated as important cultural assets by
the Chiba Prifectural Government.
